Safe and Family Friendly Caribbean Vacation Destination

Postby sacredvoyage on Wed Mar 09, 2011 11:52 am

My husband and I want to take our boys (ages 6 and 8) to the Caribbean in July to celebrate our 10th anniversary. We just can't figure out where. We've been to Puerto Rico and British Virgin Islands, and would like to try something new. Jamaica and Dominican Republic are also not on our list of possibilities. We are considering the Cayman Islands, Aruba, Anguilla, Cozumel, St. John's.

We've stayed in private villas in Tortola (twice) and love the privacy they give, but I think we'll be looking for a hotel/resort on this trip to give our boys more possibilities. I don't want a hotel with a big gate that we're afraid to leave without the resort tourguides. I want to feel safe on vacation -- and not feel like I'm taking advantage of the local population.

Any destination suggestions for our family trip would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

The Bahamas offers families 700 islands of fun, sun and nature. Marvel at the tropical wildlife, plunder away at Pirates in the Bahamas, or explore the Adventure Learning Centre's petting farm, planetarium and nature trail. Of course, there are always relaxing beaches for family fun.

The only place on your list that I have been to is Grand Cayman. It fits all of your requirements - safe, no poverty and lots to do. I have been to Martinique, the Bahamas, St. Lucia- all great places but Grand Cayman has the cleanest and most beautiful water I have ever seen.

We are headed to Grand Caymen in Feb. with a twelve year old,and after doing much research we found that it is noted as being one of the safest places to travel, and there is alot to see,and do.

Caribbean has many wonderful kid-friendly resorts and hot spots. This makes the islands great places to go on vacations with small children have a fun-filled trip. Most of these islands offer deals for kids to eat, play, and stay on your getaway. 8 great places for you to take your kids when visiting the Caribbean involves:

1. Jamaica
2. St. Lucia
3. The Bahamas
4. Grand Cayman
5. Dominician Republic
6. cuba
7. Aruba
8. Barbados
I like staying at: Tuscany Villas.
