suggestions for 4 days in Rome

Postby justolive on Sun Apr 10, 2011 3:15 am

Hi,

I will be in Italy for 4.5 days , travelling into Rome and back to london from Milan.

Plan to be in Rome for 2 days and 1 day in Milan . Not sure with what to do with the remaining 1.5 days . Should i cover Pompeii and Vatican city which are close to Rome , or go to Florence for a day on the way to Milan.

Wanted to spend atleast 2 days in Florence so was thinking of visiting small places like pompeii and vatican city and covering those places close to rome and leaving florence for another trip .

Thanks in advance

Florence has been one of those iconic cities that people have dreamed of visiting for hundreds of years. The city of Florence is easily explored on foot due to its relatively compact nature with the historic centre being built around two main squares; Piazza del Duomo and Piazza della Signoria.

The Colosseum is the most remarkable sights in Rome (particularly at night), other than you should to tour its inside for an enlightening look in the history of this two thousand year old site. Designed to seize more than fifty-thousand viewers while the lions and gladiators performed their work, the stadium just the once had a cover that can be extended to give the viewers release from the sun on hot-summer days.
